The Raider Rhythm Scholarship reflects the spirit and dedication of the Leonardtown High School Band Boosters. This award honors a graduating senior who embodies the dedication, teamwork, and resilience required to ensure the success of the Raider Band Programs.

Award Details

• Amount: A $200 monetary award.
• Selection: The recipient will be chosen based on their commitment to the band, academic achievement, character, and service.
• Presentation: The scholarship will be awarded during the end-of-year band banquet.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, students must meet the following requirements:

• Active Membership: Must be a current member of an LHS Band Program ensemble (e.g., Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Jazz, or Marching Band).
• Senior Status: Must be a graduating senior at Leonardtown High School.
• Future Plans: Must plan to attend a college, university, trade school, or other post-secondary institution.
• Academics: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or as determined by the Boosters).

Application Checklist

A complete application must be submitted in a sealed envelope to Mr. Martin and include:

1. Application Form: Completed personal and school activity information.
2. Short Essay: A 400–500 word essay reflecting on your personal growth in the band or what the program means to you.
3. Letter of Recommendation: One letter from a teacher or mentor (excluding Band Staff or Booster Members).
4. Proof of GPA: Documentation of your current academic standing.

Important Deadlines

• Submission Deadline: April 15th.
• Fund Information Deadline: The recipient must provide enrollment and payment details for fund disbursement by September 1st of the award year.
